On Monday, April 7th, Il Sole 24 Ore dedicated an article to Glass to Power, providing an overview of our company’s journey. Founded as a spin-off of the University of Milano-Bicocca, we established our operational headquarters in the Polo Meccatronica of Rovereto starting in 2019. The article explored the motivations behind this strategic choice and the progress of our flagship technology, Heli-On.
Glass to Power’s CEO, Claudio Castellan, highlighted how Trentino has proven to be fertile ground for innovation. A dynamic ecosystem, enriched by the presence of cutting-edge research centers and sustainability-oriented businesses, has created a favorable environment for our growth and for the development of advanced solutions in the Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) sector.
The focus then shifted to Heli-On, our innovative insulating glass unit with a photovoltaic frame, entirely developed in-house. This technology transforms ordinary glass surfaces into active sources of clean energy. Its recent presentation at the Bau Messe in Munich last January garnered significant interest from the construction industry, eager to integrate energy production into buildings in an aesthetically harmonious way. The initial feedback gathered at the fair indeed confirmed this market trend.
The article also offered a glimpse into our operational base located within the Polo Meccatronica of Rovereto. This 150 sqm space represents the beating heart of our development, assembly, prototyping, and testing activities, thanks to the commitment of a team of 6 people destined to grow with our projects.
