Glass to Power participated in the first edition of the Integrated Photovoltaic Conference (IPV Conference) held on October 28th in Florence. The conference, dedicated to the integration of photovoltaic technologies in the built environment, was organized as part of the Horizon Europe Seamless PV project and proved to be a significant event for the future of renewable energy.

The focus of this first edition was on the architectural and landscape integration of photovoltaic technologies. In this context, Glass to Power‘s new product fits perfectly: an innovative photovoltaic glass that, thanks to its advanced design, allows for the integration of energy production into building glass surfaces without compromising visual or architectural functionality. This makes it an ideal solution for projects requiring a balance between energy efficiency and aesthetics.

The conference was held at the Auditorium of Santa Apollonia, in the historic heart of the city, and provided an opportunity for experts and innovators to discuss cutting-edge technological, design, and engineering solutions. Oral presentations and workshops were organized to foster exchange and cooperation among various disciplines, with speakers selected through a Call for Projects. The integration of photovoltaics requires multidisciplinary expertise and a holistic vision that encompasses technological, engineering, architectural, economic, and regulatory aspects. The Conference aims to disseminate this knowledge and promote innovative and economically sustainable solutions.

The main topics covered during the Conference included:

  • Technological innovation with custom-made PV modules
  • Engineering of module integration, structural design
  • Building-specific solutions, solar architecture, integrated building energy systems
  • Integration into the urban environment and landscapes (Agri-photovoltaic)
  • Resources and modeling, digitalization, GIS, and visualization
  • Regulations, policies, codes, and land use policies
  • Resource efficiency and circular economy

With its innovative photovoltaic glass, Glass to Power has confirmed its position at the forefront of the photovoltaic integration sector. Participation in the IPV Conference allowed the company to benchmark against other solutions and underscore the importance of a multidisciplinary approach and continuous technological innovation to overcome current challenges and seize the opportunities offered by this energy transition. Glass to Power’s commitment to promoting the integration of photovoltaics in architecture and landscape contributes to creating a future where clean energy is accessible to all and is an integral part of our built environment.
